Biiggle is a directory of businesses, artisans and drivers, and the system those businesses run on. This page says what we know about you, why, and who else sees it.
Who we are
This service is run by Biiggle.

What we collect
Only what you type in, what your device gives when you allow it, and what you do here.
- A business owner. The business's name, web address, logo, trades and website; its pin on the map with its area, town and state; your name, phone and email; a password. Later, what you add: a banner, adverts, products and prices.
- An artisan or a driver. Your name, trades, phone and WhatsApp number; your pin on the map with your area, town and state; how far you travel; your email; a password. Later, what you add: a headline, a few lines about you, your years at the trade, a photo, a banner, photos and videos of your work. Your job book holds what you write in it: your own customers' names, phone numbers and emails, the work done, what you charged and what you spent.
- A reader who likes, rates or comments. Your name, email, phone and a PIN; your likes, ratings and comments. Your name is shown beside your comment.
- A shop's customer. Your phone number and a 4-digit PIN; your name and email when you check out; an address if the business records one; what you ordered and paid; your cashback with that shop. Each shop keeps its own account for you.
- A business's staff. Your name, email, phone, address, NIN, date of birth, role, department, branch, salary bank account, a photo, a CV and a password; and the work you do in the system.
- A business's partner. Your business name, your name, email, phone, address, bank account, a photo and a password; and your orders and wallet with that business.
- Someone applying for the blue tick. The name on your ID, the kind of ID and its number, your date of birth if you give it, your address, town and state, a CAC number if you have one, a phone, an email, and photos of the ID, of a proof of address and of one more paper if you add it.
- Every visitor. Your device's IP address and browser type, as any website sees them. We use the IP address to limit repeated sign-in and reset attempts.
We never see or keep card numbers. You type those on the payment company's own page.
The camera is used when you scan a code or take a photo to upload. A code is read on your device, and only the code is sent.
Why
- To list a business, an artisan or a driver on the directory, and let people reach them.
- To run each business's own system: sales, stock, orders, receipts, staff and payroll.
- To keep your cart, your orders and your cashback with a shop.
- To check that a listing is who it says it is (the blue tick).
- To take a payment and confirm it.
- To send the messages described below.
- To keep accounts safe and stop abuse.
We do not sell your details.
Where you are
- A listing's pin is public. The place a business, an artisan or a driver pins at sign-up is part of the listing: readers see its area and town, and how far it is from them. It is taken when you press the button, and not again unless an artisan or a driver pins a new place.
- A reader's position is rounded to about 100 metres and kept in a cookie on your own device for 30 days. It comes to us with each page, so the list can be put in order, nearest first. It is not saved on our server and not tied to your name. "Show everywhere" on the directory removes it.
- While the directory is open and location is allowed, the list updates as you move. Your position is never followed in the background.
Who else receives it
- Payment companies: Paystack, Nomba, Monnify (Moniepoint) and OPay. When you pay a shop, that shop's own payment company gets your name, email, the amount and a reference. When a business, an artisan or a driver pays Biiggle, ours gets the same. When a business pays its staff through the system, each name and bank account goes to that business's payment company.
- Telegram. Our own team's group is told when a business, an artisan or a driver joins (name, web address, trade, town, phone, email), when a payment to Biiggle is made, and when someone applies for the blue tick (the listing's name and town, and a CAC number if given; never the ID number or the papers). A business that connects its own Telegram group gets its own reports there.
- SMS companies: Termii or Twilio, or another one a business sets up. They get the phone number and the words of a text.
- Our email provider carries every email that is sent, ours and each business's.
- WhatsApp. A WhatsApp button opens WhatsApp on your phone. A business may also connect WhatsApp's own service, run by Meta, so that people who message it there get answers about its products.
- OpenStreetMap. The pin of a business, an artisan or a driver is sent to OpenStreetMap's place-name service, to turn it into an area and a town. Nothing about the person goes with it.
- Hosts of scripts and fonts. Shop pages and staff dashboards load some scripts and fonts from cdnjs (Cloudflare), jsDelivr, unpkg, Google Fonts and jQuery's own host, and Paystack's script at checkout. Your browser fetches these itself, so those hosts see your IP address. The directory and the other pages at biiggle.com load none.
- The law. We give details to a court or an authority when the law requires it.
Nobody else, and each of them receives only what its job needs. No advertising networks and no analytics companies.
Each business keeps its own records
Every business on Biiggle has a database of its own: its customers, its staff and partners, its sales. That business decides what it records and answers for it; Biiggle stores those records on its behalf. To see, correct or remove what a business holds about you, ask that business.
One thing our own team can do, said plainly: read the name, phone, email, address, purchase total and points of a business's customers, to send them a message from Biiggle or to download them as a list. Nothing else in a business's records is read.
Cookies
- Signing in: a cookie that keeps you signed in.
- Your cart: a shop keeps the phone number or table you gave it in a cookie for 30 days, so your cart is there when you come back.
- Where you are: the rounded position above, for 30 days.
- Small choices kept on your device, such as "Not now" on the location sheet.
No advertising cookies and no trackers.
Messages
- Messages you need are sent when they are needed: a welcome, a receipt, a code or a link to reset a PIN or a password, a reminder from an artisan about work done for you.
- From Biiggle: we can email or text business owners, and the customers of the businesses on Biiggle. Every such email has an unsubscribe link at its foot. Our texts have no such link yet: to stop them, write to Info@biiggle.com with the number.
- From a business: its own messages come from that business. Ask it to stop them.
How we keep it safe
- Every page is served over an encrypted connection.
- Passwords, and a reader's PIN, are stored hashed: nobody can read them back.
- Identity papers are kept where the web cannot reach them. Only our own administrators can open one, and each opening is logged.
How long we keep it
- An account's records are kept for as long as the account is open.
- Nothing is deleted because a plan ran out or was not paid for.
- The blue tick: the full ID number is deleted the moment we decide. The last four digits and the papers stay while the listing does, and go when it is deleted.
- A business that deletes itself is closed at once and erased for good 30 days later. Signing in again within the 30 days cancels it.
- The position and cart cookies last 30 days.
Your choices
- See or correct your details: in your own account, or write to Info@biiggle.com. For a shop's records, ask the shop.
- Delete your account: Delete my account says how, for every kind of account.
- Location: turn it off in your phone or browser settings. The directory still works, showing everything.
- Complain: write to us first. You may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
Children
Biiggle is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect a child's details. A business may take on staff from the age of 16; that record is the business's. If you believe a child has given us their details, write to Info@biiggle.com and we will remove them.
Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top changes. If the change is a large one, we say so on Biiggle.
